Dear KC'ites,

I am writing to thank all of you for making our 23rd annual reunion a success. Modiha Bhatti and I are excited to take over the responsibilities of President and Treasurer. On behalf of all the members, I would like to thank our outgoing KCA President and Treasurer, Farida Saeed and Sobia Chughtai for the hard work they put into arranging the reunion and smoothly managing KCA.

I regret to inform you that Dr. Bernadette Louise Dean resigned as Principal of Kinnaird College on May 29, 2010. As many of you will recall, we had been delighted to have Dr. Dean as our guest of honor at the 2009 KCA Reunion. She is a distinguished, dedicated and recognized educationalist of Pakistan. She made a strong and forthright plea for support for KC. A few of us had the opportunity to accompany her to meetings with some leading colleges and universities that were organized by our very own KC'ites, we were all inspired by her vision for Kinnaird. Dr. Dean made a very positive impression with the Deans that she met with, both on behalf of KC as well as for the future of Pakistan. We regret that she has left Kinnaird College after a very short time and wish her the very best in her future work.

The Board of Governors of Kinnaird College has appointed Dr. Rukhsana David as the Acting Principal. Dr. David is the Head of Fine Arts Department at Kinnaird. We look forward to working with her in our continued support of Kinnaird College. Modiha and I look forward to working with all KC 'ites and will be relying on your ideas, support and feedback. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with me or Modiha with any suggestions.

We intend to keep you all informed of developments at Kinnaird and of course with regard to our next steps as KCA. Hope you all have a great summer and look forward to hearing from you.

The Caretaker Government (announced on November 3, 2007 ) appointed Mira Phailbus, Principal, Kinnaird College, as the Minister of Education & Minority Affairs for the Punjab. This great honour for Kinnaird means that Mrs. Phailbus is wearing THREE hats, Kinnaird College Principal, Minister for Education AND Minister for Minorities.
